Sometime has past since my last update in 2012. Here's a quick catch up on my more recent activities.

February: Melbourne based residency at North Melbourne Town Hall with Cagoule Productions.
I was in creative lockdown with Scottish based choreographer and film director Abby Warrillow and a handful of enthusiastic Melbourne based dancers for an entire week in Feb.
Over the past two years Cagoule Productions and I have collaborated on various film and dance media projects all of which had been produced cross continental via Skype conversations and Dropbox file sharing.
This was an opportunity for our team to finally collaborate and develop new work together in the studio. The final product will result in a short dance film piece combining original choreography and sound design.Stay tuned for news on the final video.
For now you can listen to my short audio excerpts I produced in the studio for different parts of the choreography.

Live soundscape performance for 'End of the Line Festival in Belgrave 24/11/2012
Originally this performance was intended for a surround sound presentation. Due to repeated technical set backs with the cinemas system I ended up settling on a stereo presentation. The mix was originally split into an 8 channel mix and due to time issues had to be quickly formatted into stereo. This compromised some of the more subtle and delicate moments in the sound design and hence a lot of detail was lost in the mix.
None the less... here it is as a document of the performance.
Enjoy.

Fairly rough edit but it gives a good impression of what to expect with out giving too much away.

The aim is to present a live audio surround sound mix in the local cinema space. My setup will use the Kinect sensor as a means of controlling MIDI output data and hopefully will allow me to command my audio across the cinema space. Basically I want to be able to point to a speaker and have sound appear, then with one gesture be able to move that sound around the space through all available speakers.
Theoretically I can do it, technically it all comes down to the physical layout of the cinema space and tech specs regarding the sound system.

I hope for the best outcome :)
